Diversity is talked about a lot in organizations. I suggest we talk about INCLUSION instead. Diversity references ethnicity, language, culture; while inclusion references everyone.

A celebration of differences which could be anything incuding personality preference, decision making and how we like to be in the world. We need to celebrate differences while we build and understand commonalities. In a recent New World Leadership Series workshop we made a random list of commonalities regardless of Ethnicity, language, religion or culture. The list of commonalities was much longer than the list of possible differences. Human Needs: to Belong; to be understoon; to contribute; to be valued; to have some control over our work lives; to be informed; to be included; to be appreciated; to earn a livilhood (meet personal needs); to do what we do best whenever possible. what else can we add to the list
